Gray U-Shaped Industrial Style Design Build Kitchen Remodel in Rancho Santa Margarita Orange County

A home in Rancho Santa Margarita got a complete kitchen overhaul with the help of APlus contractors.

Before

The former kitchen was rather basic and cookie cutter. It had typical wood cabinets in a bulky build, as well as generic dark granite countertops. The owners were seeking a more modernized look that had a mixture of industrial and rustic design accents.

Restructuring

We completely demolished the old kitchen and relaid the floors with rugged oak-hued hardwood. This rich golden color provides a warm base that contrasts well with the cool tones and modern elements we added afterward.

The maple custom cabinets were built in a Euro-style construction with 3” Shaker doors, according to a U-shaped layout. They feature Square crown moulding and Colonial base moulding. We painted them in a slate-toned finish called Legendary Gray. The cabinets were outfitted with spice pulls, a double trash pull and custom floating wood shelves above the stove area and the diagonal kitchen corner.

At the breakfast bar section, we left a cutout space for legroom, and faced it with a nut-colored wood panel that features a convenient electrical outlet. As for the center of the kitchen, we constructed a custom center island with a finish of Whisper White, sporting sturdy dark posts and shelves. It has cabinet storage on both sides, including pull-out tray shelving. A quaint wooden dining table with the same coloring as the flooring and wall shelves acts as an extension of the island, and its minimalist bench seating keeps things streamlined and unobtrusive.

All of the countertops are made of a lovely pale gray stone with delicate dark striations. The glossiness of their smooth texture is enhanced by the industrial globe lights that hang in a row above the center island. Light also spills in from the large glass door along the outer wall, which leads to the backyard. The exposed walls were covered with Imperial Bianco Gloss 2” x 12” Tiles to keep the kitchen’s new style airy and bright.

Appliances

To maintain the industrial theme, all stainless steel appliances were selected. The Thermador Star-Sapphire Series Dishwasher is situated in the breakfast bar section, next to the Kohler Chef Inspired Collection Stages 45” Under-Mount Kitchen Sink. A Wolf Pro 24” Deep Wall Hood is seated above the Wolf 48” Dual Fuel Ranges, near the large Subzero 48" Built-In Side-by-Side Refrigerator with Internal Dispenser.

Long Beach Black Contemporary Modern L-Shaped Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel with Custom Sophia Line Cabinets

After devoting much time and effort into finding a contractor that could execute their vision, the owners of this beautiful Long Beach home chose APlus to renovate their kitchen. With our help and expertise, they were able to transform their old kitchen and bathrooms into spaces that now match their sleek and modern personal style.

Before

The original kitchen was actually quite stylish, but its handsome look was far too traditional for the tastes of the new homeowners. Between the dark hardwood cabinets, granite countertops, and marbled tile flooring, it felt too old school to mesh with the hip, youthful vibe of the clients. The bathrooms, on the other hand, didn’t even have beauty on their side. Their plain white countertops and walls didn’t complement the murky green accent tiles or the ashen-toned hardwood floors, resulting in a look that was simply drab. Restructuring

The clients decided to keep the original L-Shaped layout, but otherwise wanted the entire kitchen gutted. We replaced the flooring with au naturale wire brush French white oak provided by the clients, creating a warm, golden brown base to work upon. A full height tile backsplash was installed upon most of the wall space, using Eleganza’s Nueva Laguna Typhoon mosaic tiles. Their metallic accents and mixture of charcoal and earth tones tie together the color of the floors and the new custom cabinets we built. Long Beach Black Contemporary Modern L-Shaped Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel with Custom Sophia Line Cabinets Long Beach Black Contemporary Modern L-Shaped Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel with Custom Sophia Line Cabinets Our proprietary Sophia Line cabinets were truly custom made for the homeowners. Not only did we design a whole new layout for their cabinetry, we also provided them with exclusive cuts rendered in our warehouse, enabling them to have uniquely shaped cabinets of superior quality. The clients chose Euro style construction with Slab horizontal doors, and a dark, striated Caarbone finish upon the Sophia Veneer. We even used the Sophia cabinets to build an oversized kitchen island complete with a seating area and butcher’s block. Shining silver hardware made up all the handles and drawer pulls, adding a modern gleam to the overall look. All countertops were made from Pental’s Lattice white quartz with a 1 ½” straight edge, introducing more contrast to the space. Eleganza’s Loft style porcelain tiles in a creamy Perla finish were selected for the new open shower’s floor and walls. In the hall bathroom, Sophia cabinets were also built, but this time with a rustic Cokalda Artika finish.

Appliances

To complete the contemporary modern look of the new kitchen, we turned to the Viking Professional Series of stainless steel appliances. A 36” Wall Mount Canopy Range Hood was installed  over the 36” Pro-Style Gas Range, and to the right, a 48” Quiet Cool Built-In Side by Side Refrigerator with Glass Shelves rests within the construction of the cabinets. On the far side of the kitchen a 2 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave Oven, Viking Professional Custom Series was also built into the cabinetry. The main kitchen sink is a shining white Franke Farmhouse 33” Single Bowl Apron Front Fireclay, while the vegetable sink in the kitchen island is a Franke 15” Undermount Single Bowl Fireclay. The bathroom features somewhat similar style sinks, Kohler’s Vessel models. Traditional Style Design Build Kitchen Remodel in Irvine Orange County

In this Irvine home remodel, we transformed a ho-hum kitchen into one of functional luxury. Our general contracting experts used their skills in both construction and interior design to create a  space with maximum storage and style. Read on to discover how we made it possible. Before our team was called in, this kitchen was dated and bland. Ancient patterned wallpaper clashed with the sterile white tile countertops, and there simply wasn’t enough room for storing all of the client’s dishes and ingredients. This led to cluttered countertops and messy cabinets that were tedious to go through. Furthermore, the space was tightly walled-in, and was un-hospitably separated from the dining room. Our main goal was to use this renovation to make the kitchen a much more pleasant place for the homeowner to spend time in, and functional enough to make cooking and entertaining a breeze. Traditional Design Build Kitchen in Irvine Custom Traditional Kitchen Remodel in Irvine Restructuring Our first task in revamping this kitchen was to take down the oppressive wall that separated it from the dining room. To create an open feel without losing cabinet or counter space, we opted for a bar-style cutout that provided a clear view into the dining area. Custom Montebello style cabinets in African Mahogany were installed, instantly upgrading the kitchen’s level of sophistication. Dark knobs and handles by Rhodes keep the look sleek and sumptuous. Traditional Kitchen remodel with corbels Traditional Kitchen with Island These handsome cabinets wrap all the way around the kitchen, and even form the base of the new large island in the center. To solve the client’s storage problem, we got creative. Cleverly placed drawers and shelves were installed within the cabinets to take advantage of every nook and cranny. The countertops were made from rustic Cambria Linconshire material, with double-layered round beveled edges for refinement. Behind the sink and stovetop areas, an understated backsplash of earth-toned Durango Travertine tiles adds an unexpected level of detail to the kitchen’s new look. Appliances The appliances were chosen to blend in well, rather than take center stage. This allows for the gorgeous texture of the dark wooden cabinets to be the primary focus. In fact, the new GE Profile Counter-Depth 23.3 cu. ft. Refrigerator was faced with the same wood paneling, making it a natural part of the kitchen’s aesthetic flow. Near the entryway of the kitchen, a stainless steel Double Combination Oven from the Masterpiece Series is nestled conveniently next to an area of open countertop. Another piece from the Masterpiece Series, a Deluxe Glass Cooktop, overlooks the dining room to allow for friendly conversation with guests while cooking.  A Blanco Diamond double-bowl sink was installed in front of the window, and to its left, a Thermador Washing Machine is also paneled with the same cabinet wood. Design Build Transitional Kitchen Remodel with Thermador Appliances

A Laguna Niguel engineer with a passion for cooking called upon APlus to bring his vision of a chef’s kitchen to life. Read about our process below to discover how we transformed a once boring kitchen into a sleek room fit for a gourmand.

Custom Kitchen Remodel with Thermador Appliances in Laguna NiguelTransitional Modern Design Build Kitchen in Laguna Niguel It’s safe to say that the original kitchen was far from meeting the needs of our client. Its dingy green coloring made it an eyesore, and it hardly any counter space or storage options. Tucked away in the corner, the old kitchen felt more like a hastily-built afterthought, rather than a space intended for daily use and enjoyment. It certainly wasn’t capable of being a host to frequent meal preparations. It was up to us to turn this underwhelming room into a place that matched the resident’s contemporary style and exacting design preferences.

 Restructuring

We began this project by pulling the floorplan outward, rather than leaving everything crowded against the corner. Around the entire room were installed Euro style cabinets in a deep hued, paint grade maple wood, with 3” Shaker type doors and a Dark Manganese finish. These custom cabinets feature Hard Rock Melamine interiors, as well as glass inset panels and shelves. At the center of the kitchen, a large island can be used as a preparation surface, or even as a seating area. The crisp white finish of LG Hausys Minuet countertops with an angularly sloping Navid edge keep the surfaces feeling clean and modern. Design Build Kitchen in Laguna NiguelComplete Redone stairs in a kitchen remodel Eleganza Anticho Maple flooring gives a slightly rustic touch to the room, ensuring that the space doesn’t feel too sterile. The warm color of the wood is contrasted by a natural stone texture backsplash in gray, made from Arizona Tile’s Victoria edition from the Waterfall series, with a Schluter style metal brushed nickel finish for a touch of s9hine. We also changed out the kitschy sunflower railing on the home’s spiral staircase for something that matched the new refinement of the kitchen. Dark iron railings with swirling filigree flow with the natural movement of the stairway, making it a graceful point of interest for the main living area.

 Thermador Appliances

Because the resident wanted a top-of-the-line kitchen that was up to the task of frequent cooking, we looked to Thermador to provide premium appliances. By sticking to a stainless steel finish for all of the new appliances, we subtly tied in the metallic accents of the cabinet knobs and handles, as well as the backsplash liner. Thermador Appliances in a Kitchen Remodel Laguna Niguel Thermador Hood & Thermador Gas Range in a Laguna Niguel Kitchen The focal point of the kitchen is made up of a Thermador 36” Masterpiece Chimney Pull-Out Drawer Hood placed over a Thermador Pro Harmony 36” Gas Range with 5.0 cu. ft. Convection Oven. With the range top’s 6 star burners, full-course meals can be prepared without any shortage of space. For cleanup after meals, the Thermador 24” Topaz Dishwasher serves as a compact powerhouse. On the right side of the kitchen, a Thermador 48” Side-by-Side Refrigerator has been installed flush with the cabinetry, as was a GE Profile 1.1 cu. ft. Microwave and a U Line Wine Captain 1000 Series Wine Refrigerator. This cooler’s size is deceptive: though it measures only 24” wide, it has a capacity of up to 48 bottles.
